Antibiotics can really mess you up! My husband has had longterm digestive issues and eating kim chi I make at home really helps. He also opens a capsule of 35 billion probiotics in his yogurt and eats it every day or so. These two things have helped tremendously along with drinking ginger tea. He doesn't take any pills because swallowing pills/vitamins seems to make things worse.

You may also want to add some chlorella to your diet. Chlorella acts like a prebiotic in helping probiotics take hold. But it goes much further in helping counter allergic reactions, reducing inflammation, tissue repair and boosting immune response. It's a real powerful food for digestive issues. Some clinical research shows it also helps with constipation.

Finally, though you are a bodybuilder, you might want to start off the day with some physical activity like a run or brisk walk. Research has shown that can make the difference when water and fiber doesn't. I've found activity certainly helps loosen up my bowels.

Good luck in recovering. Your body has an amazing ability to repair itself. Just give it the nutrients it needs and give it time to work!
