I've never heard of half this stuff either. Everyone used to joke that we had Tapeworms because me and the kids are so small and skinny... but never in a million years did i ever think we would actually contract something. There is this preconceived notion that people who have parasites have poor hygiene or live in the ghetto... and get them from used furniture and clothing or just from not being clean. We all shower daily, sometimes twice... clean just about daily.. even have a cleaning lady come in 2 days a week. Do laundry frequently.. the older kids will run the washer to was A shirt or A pair of boxers. All my furniture and accent rugs are white.. so I'm obsessive about clean hands and feet keeping my stuff white. So how the hell does this happen?? The reality is, the shit is everywhere and we could've even had this for years and nobody would've known. The night i took my daughter to the ER I had to fight with her dad over going. He didn't want to take her or go along, but he also didn't want to babysit the 5 year old so I could take her myself either... we fought for 2 days about it and i said f*** you, I'm taking her... we were so close to not going and had we not gone, we'd still have no clue. Then I see all these people in the grocery store or on the street and wonder to myself, how many of THEM are infected and don't know? When I see the doctor Monday I'm going to tell her to fo take some medicine and do a flush and see what she turns up with.. bit like most people, I'm sure She'll be in denial about it because "it doesnt happen to THEM" they are doctors and they are above parasite infections. I can't even get my teenagers to acknowledge or even pretend to acknowledged they are infected... they're in such denial.
