Well, I need to caution you detection for lyme or parasites isn't all that reliable. For lyme the western blot test is more reliable but I don't want to give the impression that it is 100% accurate. I think it is far from it honestly. I would hope that it would be better than 50% but I don't honestly know. I think it has to deal with the infection as well. When I took the test I suffered from a tick bite 6 weeks prior and was taking doxycycline during that time. Hypothetically I thought since I was taking Antibiotics that I the test wouldn't be positive. My doctor said there was a large chance it would be positive based on her experience. The majority of the bands were positive in the IgM test and only one was positive in the IgG test, the 41 kda. Then they review the findings to give a diagnosis vs the cdc guidelines and the igenix guidelines. It's tough. I have never gotten a positive test result relying from a blood or stool test. There was too much immune suppression. But hopefully others experiences will be different. I certainly hope so.
