In the past year I have had two friends involuntarily committed to the psych ward. One was bi-polar and having hallucinations and the other went completely ballistic/manic, tried to kill a family member, and took on three cops before they finally got him restrained. (He spent 90 days in the psych ward.)
Talk to your councellor or therapist about what it would take to be admitted to a psych hospital and if this is really the right place for you right now.
If you are not currently seeing anybody, talk to your county health department about what options are open to you.
Oh and if nothing else, I am a huge believer in sunshine therapy. You do not feel like it, but you MUST drag yourself outside and walk around for at least 10 minutes. Say to yourself "my life depends on this." A week of that and you'll feel a difference. You won't be 100%, but you'll be in better place to think and make choices.
