Re: Iodine and biofilms?

Can Iodine clear bacteria in the small intestines? My GI doctor thinks I have small intestine bacteria overgrowth and if the tests come back positive the treatment is Antibiotics . I have tried for 2 years go correct it by diet and probiotics, but he says that in cases where the intestines are not flushing properly you shouldn't even be taking probiotics. I did have the Antibiotics 1.5 years ago and was better for a year or so, but things have gotten unbearable again.

I have been taking about 500mg SSKI + 50mg Iodoral for a month or so now (and taking Iodine for the month before that at lower levels as I tapered up). I had planned on doing the Antibiotics to clear things up, sticking to the super strict specific carbohydrate diet after that and then trying to figure out how to clear the biofilm that the ND says is likely left behind keeping me from fully healing.

Or do you think I should up my SSKI to 1k and give it a few weeks before settling for the Antibiotic treatment? I take all the cosupplements + a ton of other stuff like Magnesium, a super potent multi-vitamin, milk thistle, biotin, colestrum, tyrosine, 5-htp, glutamine and recently added Boran (3mg). Vitamin D gives me headaches, but I just had testing and I'm at 50 so not super low.

Thanks for any thoughts. I've spent the last 2.5 years sick and my work has suffered, hence my plan of just doing the antibiotics to start over and then trying to heal the underlying damage.
