Iodine and biofilms?

Hi, just wondering if there is any evidence of Iodine treating bacterial biofilms?

My daughter is sick with a bronchial chest infection that started in her throat and sinuses. This unfortunately is an all too frequent occurrence for her. It then progresses to her chest and she gets bronchial asthma. She has a hard time shaking it off and several months ago one such infection turned into pneumonia. She misses so much school because of these infections. I was told by a doctor that she probably has bacterial biofilms and he suggested a strong ionic silver (250ppm) and high dose liposomal Vit C – and yes it works to get rid of the symptoms after a few days of use but still the infections keep coming back so it seems the bacteria is not being killed completely.

I have had her on Iodine 25mg Lugol’s on and off for a couple of months – pulse-dosing but I always stop if she gets sick or seems to be detoxing as I get scared it is too much for her – with me I can often ‘rough it out’ but with my kids I don’t want to put them through anything unpleasant but perhaps she needs some strong dosages and I need to push through. I would appreciate any advice as I feel I am floundering around here. Doctors don’t seem to know a thing and I have spent so much money on specialists and even natural holistic doctors. I have just had a disagreement with my mum – she says I give my kids too many supplements and suggested that is why they get sick all the time – she is forgetting that they were sick before I gave them any supplements, it was the doctors and their Antibiotics when they were babies and when I was pregnant that made my kids sick and now I am trying all I can to try and fix them but it is so frustrating because NOTHING I try seems to work.

Several years ago a stool test showed an overgrowth of streptococcus in her gut and although she was treated at the time with Antibiotics (yes I know, stupid), I wonder if the streptococcus bacteria has taken up residence in her throat and sinuses and perhaps paired up with candida??

I am also wondering if I should be using SSKI instead of Lugols but I can’t source SSKI or potassium Iodide here in NZ at all – I asked at the pharmacies but they are out of stock and even their supplier is out of stock (strange…) so I would have to source from overseas – which I will do if I have to – I had just thought that perhaps being female, and being 9 years old, that she might need the Iodine as well as the iodide? Or should I just go for the Iodide as it might target her chest/lungs more?

Appreciate some advice from the experts out there.
