Re: Success stories after following Dr. Jeff's program?

I completed jeff mccombs candida plan after suffering from candida for about 8 years. While on the plan I was almost entirely free of symptoms (including itchy skin, irritable bowels, and vaginal discomfort). I had a minor flair up of symptoms for one day prior to starting my period.

I completely committed myself to the plan without cheating at all. However, I did not spend hundreds up front on supplements.

I found the supplements helpful, though I ordered them individually over time. After the first 8 weeks I switched to a cheaper detox essential formula - taking the same vitamins (vitamin c from calcium ascorbate, echinacea purpurea root, red clover blossom isoflavones, & lemon bioflavonoids.) I continue to take candida force. I think it is superior to other options. Vital flora is really potent as well, though I am testing out cheaper probiotics. Concentrace minerals seem to be the only thing that has ever kept me regular.

Sweating is an amazing way of life! I will stick with it for the rest of my life!! Two things all humans would be healthier for doing: sweating & concentrace minerals! If I feel candida symptoms or die off symptoms I jump in a bath with a good book and sweat it out. I use sweating to meditate, to stretch, to relax, and to get sleepy.

After the plan: I was able to reintroduce most foods without problems. Caffeine doesn't really work for me, but I don't care much. Sugar is too much for me. I don't like it much anymore anyway - it is too overwhelming for my taste buds. A little raw chocolate pie with agave does not hurt me. Too much alcohol over a few days (special celebratory weekends) will give me symptoms, but a few days of cleansing puts me back to feeling good.

I feel way more amazing when I eat the foods I was eating for the first 8 weeks of the cleanse, plus nuts and some beans. I don't care to eat much more than that, except in moderation. There are foods worth splurging for occasionally. If I eat super clean and healthy for a week before and a week after I feel fine after having a little junk (Mac and cheese, French fries, or getting drunk.) As a side note I am a pescatarian.

As far as drinking: I used to drink every weekend, and I no longer want to. I have tons of fun socializing sober and having a productive next morning! When I do drink, tequila with anejo seems to be the best for not causing symptoms. I drink it with lime on the rocks. Or vodka soda with lime, lemon, mint, or ginger extract.

The plan showed me how happy I can be eating clean. I felt way more of a buzz than alcohol gives me. I plan to do the first 8 weeks of the plan every January and February.

I don't feel I am cured to the point of nothing ever bringing the yeast back, but that is probably not possible in my body. Binge drinking or excess Sugar will always give me problems. I hope to some day do the cleanse for a whole year. From what I've read for the amount of time I've lived with candida that would be greatly beneficial. Today is not the right time yet. For now I'm happy with not having symptoms. I am happy that I am eating so healthy and being so creative in the kitchen.

Overall, I highly recommend the plan. The fact that fruit is allowed makes it seem to be a healthier more well balanced diet than other candida diets.
