Re: Adrenal exhaustion - where from here?

Hey fellow Uk person...

Amitryptyline lowers cortisol, where as the other anti depressants like Escalaprim are stimulating and raise cortisol, so this could have an affect on the ASI result. I know when I was on Amit years ago, my cortisol ASI test was the lowest it ever has been.

The 9am cortisol test is high because you had been fasting all night, so to maintain blood Sugar and insulin levels, the adrenals are stimulated and maxining out - did you have morning anxiety/feeling of adrenaline?...

My recent ASI test showed super high 8am then bottomed out rest of the day - this shows adrenal health , ie the adrenals are not healthy to maintain cortisol output through out the day.

Its good your GP is interested in helping though, mine has no interested and the Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome specialist in London believes its a mental condition! :)

Do a little research, read the Clymer Healing Website, Dr Lams website, and get James Wilsons Adrenal Fatigue book. This will give you some good ideas about whats going on...
