Please read with understanding before dispensing or dismissing people's statements.

Pancreatitis is NOT diabetes. Of course your roommate got diabetes after their pancreas was removed! Diabetes happens when the body is either unable to utilize or produce insulin.

Insulin is produced by the pancreas. If you have no pancreas then you are by definition, diabetic.

That fact has absolutely no bearing on her doctor's advice about pancreatitis. Not even related.
