Re: Raised scars on nose are ruining my life :

I got the ointment jars later than I had expected plus other problems with the order which have taken some time to sort out. The jars are tiny, 15ml so not much can be mixed in them but they are okay for testing purposes.

I have mixed up some oils and I have been applying them more frequently than I was.

I have mixed:
Shea Butter
coconut oil
Rosehip oil
Jojoba oil
hazlenut oil
vitamin E oil
Helichyrsum eo
Elemi eo

I favoured the more solid oils such as Shea and Coconut to give the ointment a fairly solid consistency at lower temperatures. It tingles a little on application but nothing major. I did read that Rosemary can help but I don't have the correct CT, I have rosemary officinalis which I have been using internally whereas a gentler CT is required for the skin. If you search for that I am sure that you will find the recommended version.

I put some on when I think about it, sometimes 3 times a day. It's a bit early to say so far but the redness appears a bit better but the redness has varied quite a lot in the past. Sometimes it will be very red and very noticeable and at other times it will be much less noticeable.

I have not been using the DMSO, it is such a nuisance using it, having to wash my nose thoroughly which tends to dry my skin and then sterilize it for 10 to 15 mins and then wash with pure water before applying the DMSO and allowing that to dry which makes it extremely time consuming.

However I do think that to get rid of the red indentation where the skin did not meet I will have to use DMSO and Vitamin C and possibly Arginine. I have some AAKG which I was using mixed with Vit C on a teaspoon and applied with the end of a teaspoon which were all sterilized in water purification tablets. I think the Vit C would make the difference. The oils could also help as they supply the nutrients for healing. It's just the shear amount of time it all takes which puts me off more than anything. Add the oil after the sterilize, using a sterile applicator and it would take 30 to 40 mins. But I suppose needs must do.
