Okay take this person who is suffering out of the argument. I hope they have a quick recovery. I am just coming into this, and my comment is simple, I hear a lot about brainwashing. Lets just look at the book for context

lets look at the two passages that were just referenced in this discussion.

But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5, ESV)

We see in this verse transgressions, iniquities, and Christ taking our chastisement so we would have peace. So it is obvious that this entire verse is talking about sin. So what are we healed from...sin. The verses context has nothing to do with physical healing. This is not brain washing. Just basic hermeneutics.


Next verse

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24, ESV)

same situation this passage is talking about him bearing our sins in his body on a tree. Because of this we are healed of our sin so we might live in righteousness.

This is a travesty that these verses are twisted by a religion that did not exist until the early 1900's they were found to be frauds at azusa street , and they are frauds now. What scares me is how they continue to propagate.
