Are Antifungals Really Necessary?

Hi there, I've seen some people posting about Candida, saying that there's no such thing as Candida Overgrowth and that it's actually about morphing Candida into it's pathogenic form.

This is what I've been suspecting too, but I was hoping someone could elaborate on this. I spent the last 2 months in a vicious cycle of taking antifungals to kill off the Candida, then feeling really sick from the resulting Die-Off, then binging on carbs to make myself feel better, then taking more antifungals... Rinse and repeat.

What seems to work for me is avoiding antifungals for the most part because they make me feel sick, and instead eating a Paleo diet high in grass-fed/wild meat and green vegetables, and focusing on healing the gut through bone broth and probiotics.

Am I on the right track in thinking that the "Candida Overgrowth" is not the main problem itself, but rather a symtpom of the deeper gut problem, and that attacking the yeast is pointless? Or do I need to be taking antifungals? I have Seborrheic Dermatitis too btw

I suppose I could take antifungals again but this time go really slowly. I took too many over the holidays (4 tbsp of Coconut Oil + 10 drops of Oregano Oil in one day) and that left me feeling like I had the flu.
