Re: Why you shouldn't follow the paleo diet
I agree that diet is terrible, especially longterm. Only the SAD diet and starvation diets are worse. Years on these low-carb Paleo-style diets is what got me here in the first place. Meat and dairy are hard on the body to digest. Our long digestive tracks are similar to herbivores, not the much shorter digestive tracks of carnivores.
Any medical text will tell you that carbs are the body's preferred source of fuel, so why in the hell are we being told to limit them?!! Excess fat is what causes the problems with carbs and
Sugar by slowing down glucose absorption into the cells, causing high blood sugar, obesity and then conditions like type II diabetes.
Most of my symptoms quickly went away when switching from the toxic low-carb/high-protein/high-fat diet to a mostly plant-based/high-carb/low-fat diet and none of my old symptoms have returned. When people think of a "clean" diet, they think of plant-based, not meat-based.
If you feel you can't tolerate carbs, then get off the high-fat diets because that's causing your problems.
