I will try to help you a little bit. The problem with persistent mucosal candidiasis is it is controlled by an effective cell-mediated immune response. It looks like some people have a weak immune response to the yeast caused by minor immune defects and genetic links. These are some specific cases. However, people with a normal immune response can also become tolerant to the yeast. The presence of the yeast over the years, even in small numbers, can cause the immune system stops attacking it and accepts the yeast as a self part of us. This is known as an acquired immune tolerance. Most of the chronic mucosal candida cases are caused by an immune paralyzes against candida. On the other hand, there is the fact that the antagonistic bacterial flora in the gut and the vagina impedes candida growth. There is a parallel inhibition between them. When the bacterial flora is stable, specially LAB, candida don't growth, when candida dominate, the bacterial flora don't growth. The Antibiotics destroy this protective mechanism allowing the yeast to flourish.
The battle to regain the health is to drive the yeast out of the tissues, immune stimulation to recover the immunity, and to restore a proper antagonistic friendly flora. Many times, people experience an spontaneous immune restoration after eliminating the yeast. Easy to say, very, very hard to do.
