I think it was 12,000 IU, not 12,000 mg. 50,000 IU is a lot more than 12,000 IU. Does 12,000 IU cause any toxicity? It just shows how vitamin D supplements might not be working because it is a much less amount than one would get from lots of sun, which is not good for your skin in the long run. I heard that you can absorb vitamin D through your scalp or hands so I wonder if the lips can still be improved with sunscreen if the sun absorbs through your scalp.
