Re: Help me understand what happened after Iodine supplementation
i was one of those who was able to get away with not taking selenium for a year, maybe year and a half. even then i didnt do it because of i had symptoms, i did it because of info on this forum posted by wombat and others. i was already up to a gram a day by then. the only thing i can think of is that i was eating a ton of brazil nuts back then - both raw out of the bag as a snack and as one of the main ingredients in my cilantro pesto.
it would be interesting to know the difference between these two groups. i had cold body syndrome to begin with. my labs read normal but i was as hypo as i could be and very very cold.
those who had the least problems with initial supplementation were those who had liver flushed, bowel cleansed,
parasite cleansed, oil pulled, diet changed... you know, a lot of personal health work. the ones who had the worst time of it were those who had been or were on fluoridated drugs.
in all cases, i recommend at least 100mg to start, and one will probably need or want more than that as a daily supplement. 100mg(of
Lugols iodine) is a bare minimum to get you started with the least problems. i start most people with 5-10 drops of
SSKI . thats 150-300mg per day.
KI is one quarter potassium by weight so that 150mg minimum gives a person at least a hundred mg of iodine. i have never heard negative feedback from anyone i know who started with that much. many people in your position has questioned me about it and then upped their dose and the next thing i know they are taking 300mg or so. worked just like i said. they love the new energy and clear thinking.
thats all i can go by until i get some reliable data to the contrary.
