No, you didn't miss the end of my fast, I just didn't post anything!
Thanks for asking, though! It went really really well. The first 16-17
days I just did carrots/beets/cuke/dark greens (such as beet greens, or
parsley, etc.). I got really tired of that and switched over to OJ and
finished the 30-day fast with that. I felt better than I ever had,
for weeks. Till today! Last night I had some coconut oil with kefir--
I didn't want to just drink the coconut oil by itself--and got a
wicked stomach ache, painful bloating, etc. That was after a dinner
of raw salad w/ cooked beet, homemade dressing, and a bit of sheep
cheese crumbled on top of it, plus 5 almonds earlier, and followed by
steamed green beans from farmer's market plus ghee (clarified butter).
Today at work I had
chills and what I knew was/is a fever, and felt weak, achey in my
joints, and not well. Tonight I have a 100 degree fever--first illness
I've had since I had shingles back in May. I know that's not very
long--I usually go much longer w/o getting ill--but I feel it was
something I ate that touched it off. UGH I hate hate hate being
sick!! I may have been exposed to something and was fighting
it, and then the bad combination (I did not know it was bad when I
ate it) did something to me. But the fast was fantastic, and I would
highly recommend it to anyone! I had a wonderful time just sunbathing
in the raw :-) here on our property in the mornings (whenever the fog
allowed), and doing yoga, going to the gym when my car was working, LOL,
and even went to a few qi gong classes in a park, which I just loved.
The perfect exercise for people who are fasting. I was not working
all during that time, so it was extremely relaxing and healing. I did
not feel the need to go here or there or get anything accomplished,
other than just seeing the fast thru to the end, which was as easy
as can be. The OJ is so, so EZ to fast on, and I never got sick of it,
as I did the carrots, etc. Plus much easier to juice and clean up!
I also did LBB, Calcium Balance, BF&C tea (some days), olive leaf
capsules, and oregano oil (the strong stuff from MH) in capsules. What
I did not do: distilled water (we have an ionizer)--don't have the
bux to invest in anything else at the moment, the ionizer was purchased
before I discovered Barefoot Herbalist in '03. Today I took an epsom
salt bath with magnesium oil in it (from Global Light Network) and that
felt great, and sitzed afterward. I thought I would be all better, but
I can feel am getting weaker by the hour. I guess I'll just have to
stay home tomorrow! After the fast I thought I would never be sick
again, ha ha--certainly not this early. It's still summertime, f'r
gosh sakes!! I'm strongly considering doing another fast just like the
one I did (only ALL OJ this time) next July, as I'm off for the entire
month.
