Re: Hope you're sitting down: how information is gathered
about your life
Thanks Julieuma, great post!
Yeah, this is no doubt just another aspect, just a part of the tip of the big-brother iceberg....what once was known as the 9000 pound gorilla iceberg, but that phrase was from 25 years ago and more. Today it's more like the 900000 pound gorilla..... a gorilla with a serious eating disorder run amok, getting more bloated and hideous every day...... and we the people are what it likes to snack on... one might say a world-class case of severe parasite infestation - the 90000-pound (and growing) big, hairy, stinky, worm always sprouting more tentacles with which to reach out and touch someone, like we it's host.
Juist in the past few days, I've noticed some new cameras, attached way up high on top of the light poles near particular road intersections.... recently remodeled sections of road with new highway lamp technology with little rf antennas on top. In an approximate 1 mile area, I noticed 4 cameras that for the life of me I don't know how long they've been there... I'm usually pretty observant for that kinda stuff, but for some reason I'm just now noticing these...of course, one must first be in the habit of looking up to notice such things..... and this is in an otherwise rural podunk middle-of-nowhere section of Pennsylvania...... this no doubt is part of the benevolent powers looking out for our safey, in the interest of national security, nod nod, wink wink, ......but does make me wonder, just how interested have they gotten they've in the bigger, more populous areas?
Lately, I've been playing a bit of a game with the drive-thru ATM, one in particular has a embedded camera right on the front by the the keyboard. Some days I put on a fake mustache, some days I'll add sunglasses or an upside down hat, some days I adjust the drivers seat to raise the seat as high as possible so that only the lower half of my face is visible.......yeah, I doubt this is doing anything to thwart the police-state thugs in charge of such monitoring.....but it gives me a bit of amusement on otherwise slow days.
In a similar vein, lotta people think it's a really great and groovy thing to check out at the grocery using the handy dandy grocery-store "you're a special customer" card. One swipe, you knock a few bucks of a $100 bill, meanwhile the central database computer just logged every single item - food/snack/other, purchased for your household...... all the more to target and advertise you for your future shopping needs.
On the web they can be even more slick. Even without knowing specific personal info, just by tracing your IP address, which invisibly (to the average user) gets sent out every time you click a different thing on the web to click, people behind the scenes designing and running the web can direct regional-specific content to your screen.... use your imagination a little to know what I mean....kinda like really personal "personals" advertisements.... pretty big iceberg we're talking about.
Think of the individual trials, tribulations, adjustments, learning and striving we each contemplate here in trying to rid ourselves of particular parasites.........then imagine the collective effort necessary if we really want to to flush the federal fluke out of us and into the toilet behind bars where it belongs?
