When you have a cold do they test you in order to put the diagnostic? - i'm just kidding of course...AF its a more complex issue
My belief is that in several years from now it will be recognized by mainstream medicine but not as adrenal fatigue. Otherwise the insurance companies will be broken :)
but your cousin has a point thou...adrenals are not ill by themselves "AF it doesnt exist"...they are doing what "they are told" - is the body putting all its mechanisms in place to assure "survival" from real or perceived dangers. from this point of view he might me right...what they are lacking is pointing out the root cause. if the name is a problem HPA axis disregulation sounds better, disautonomia for some, bla bla bla...
something else triggers them to become "fatigued" and the list is so long...you know already. and usually its a combination of factors...
