Hemochromatosis in relation to zinc, copper, and iodine..
Greetings
I'm new poster around these forums but a frequent visitor as of late.
I'm just a bit stumped at the moment, I've been reading up on iron toxicity (heretic hemochromatosis) and am having trouble concluding what impact HH would have on trace mineral balance particularly copper and zinc.
Personally I've been stuck with candida symptoms as early as 10 years old (possibly earlier) which i believe is due to HH, and this has weakened my immune system.
After some intense research I've started supplementing with cod liver oil and
Iodine which has greatly improved my situation but not completely cured it. I believe this could be because of increased absorption of iron due to cod liver oil somewhat relieving the liver and strengthening of thyroid gland from iodine.
However I still feel like I'm either deficient in copper or zinc. I've supplemented with zinc and experienced slight nausea, diarrhea, and violent dreams which are signs of too much zinc. However in the following article it states that these could be iron detoxification symptoms.

Whereas in the below particular source it hypothesizes hemochromatosis could be due to a copper deficiency as iron toxicity tends to increase absorption of zinc and some other trace minerals.

I believe this is condition is causing issue with thyroid or adrenals and I'm curious to hear the opinions of you guys :)
