Actually, I don't believe a high fat, high protein diet is necessarily bad for health or destructive to digestions, for some people this can be a very good diet and very healthy for them. Every person is an individual and there is no perfect diet that encompasses all humans as a whole. I follow the principles of ayurveda which says that every person is a unique individual that will need sometimes a drastically different diet from the next person to achieve optimal health. I do not subscribe to either the low-carb proponents or the high-carb proponents and I think it is somewhat silly to say either of these diets are "better". The only thing I do is comment to people who are following a particular diet and having many problems that could be associated with this diet and I suggest that they consider that maybe the diet they are following is not the best thing for them.
