Rule #1 The scapegoat is usually "crazy". Also the one who gets the family into therapy but don't hold your breath. I've been trying to get my family into talk therap, into mediation,you name it, for a long time but I discovered that they're not interested. Scapegoating is much like drug addiction except that YOU are the drug. They don't want things to get better because if they dropped the scapegoat thing, they would have to deal with their own issues. Show me one drug addict who actually wants to deal with their issues if they can "Project" them onto somebody else. Sad.
