Re: Holy Spirit we need help. Please come to us.

Thank you Vektek and Refreshed for joining me in prayer about this issue.

For several months now I have been repenting to God for being too critical of ministers that I wrote off a few years ago or more as a good possibility of being wolves in sheep’s clothing. I threw away their books (I may still have some packed away). I believe in the supernatural for today. I believe in the gifts of the Spirit for today. However, some of this stuff just does not seem to fit into what the Bible teaches.

People are acting like they are having convulsions! Where is that in the Bible? Where are these jerking movements in the Bible? Some of these people even make animal noises. Where is barking like a dog in the Bible? These things are definitely raising red flags with me. These things are not in the Bible. These things are not described in the Bible as manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Holy laughter I can maybe understand as the Bible does talk about the joy of the Lord. Being slain in the Spirit I can maybe understand as people did fall in the presence of the Lord. I understand visions, dreams and being caught up into heaven as this was all done in the Bible. Even being drunk in the Spirit I can maybe understand because people who were filled with the Holy Spirit in Acts were mistaken for being drunk. However, I do not feel that being drunk in the Spirit is a proper way to describe it. They were mistaken for being drunk.
