The vitamix blenders are designed for heavy use.The 5000 series are 2hp peak model.

The weak points are the drive shaft and the gears.These tend to get stripped and are easily replaced.

Time is the big advantage with the blender.What took over an hour on the greenstar2000.Took 15 minutes with the blender.
