I would say from back to front. wet the hear from back (center) with salty water, use low voltage if longer time such as 8h. I think it depends of the zapper circuit how much the voltage goes down when attached to skin. Exact voltages can not be told told cause the zappers are all little differend. From side to side the head the current causes pain. That is not good since it is talk about the brain. User must feel him/her self. Do not sleep with too high voltage. The salty hair acts like a time relay. When the hair dries the current becomes weaker. A small cheap circuit with 406-435khz (modded with the capasitor change/trim capasitor) will get Ascaris moving immediately outwards with 10V (idle voltage), but 8V (idle voltage) is also working. The Idle voltage is what I mean the voltage is when the electrode pads are not attached. As the Electrode pads are attached (for example taped to hair) the voltage goes down (for example 50%). This is what I like to bring in your mind that if the circuit and powersupply are very stable the voltage will not come down. And the current will be much more with much less voltage.
I recommend to buy an oscilloscope to supervise the zapper some times. Don't attemt to kill the parasites in your head, since you can just quide them away.
