Re: peeling lips, candida 1st share
I don't think it was a celiac panel, per se. I took the comprehensive digestive stool analysis test in 2008 and 2009, which I just referred to with my results. There was a minor staph aureus overgrowth in November 2008 which was resolved by December 2009 along with the Candida parapsilosis.
When I took an even more comprehensive test (Metametrix Microbial Ecology DNA) last year there was a presence of pinworm and a "
parasite with taxonomy unavailable" which my naturopath explained probably meant something I ate which was not a human parasite.
I also tested "borderline" for antigliadin and somewhat IgA and IgG reactive to wheat in other tests. I think that is more associated with celiac. I have been supplementing with Biotin (5mg/day) and been off gluten for about 9 months now with no significant change in my condition as a result.
It has been quite challenging to stay on an ultra low glycemic, gluten and dairy free diet the past month and a half but I can correlate my recently worsening condition to the week that I fell off the diet and was drinking alcohol (still gluten-free though). I've been keeping my lips constantly moisturized during this time, for the record. I have also been exposed to campfire and cigarette smoke during this time.
Peace,
C.S.
