Iodine/ Bromide Acne

Hello All,

I'm probably re-iterating past complaints but I couldn't actually find a straight answer regarding my issues.

I have been taking Lugol's 5% Iodine for about 6 months now. I very slowly and gradually worked my way up to 8 drops which I did for about a month before I just couldn't stand my unruly skin.

I have never had issues with my skin. Never had acne. I had the occasional breakout very rarely and would sometimes have sensitivity issues here and there but for the most part, perfectly clear and beautiful skin. Random people would compliment it's radiancy.

Not so much the case anymore.

Ever since I went up to 8 drops, my skin has gone a little nuts. I was having a bit of a rash on my face and maybe a few pimples but nothing like what is happening now.

However, I have done extensive research and seem to have found that bromide is the culprit and have thus, started the protocol on http://www.breastcancerchoices.org

In addition, I'm going to discontinue the Iodine until I see improvement in my skin and probably start all over again once the detox has subsided.

I also read about diluting the Iodine and using it as a face wash to help with this odd Acne while possibly just applying the straight iodine directly onto blemishes. I have already applied it to my skin to see if I had any kind of reaction to it which I did not and it absorbed within 6 hrs. We'll see if it works on one spot of acne.

Does anyone have any suggestions to add to the protocol or possible adverse opinions about what I plan to do? I'm just trying to find some kind of solution and balance. I am well aware that detox symptoms are normal but this seems so excessive for someone who never struggled with the Acne issues to begin with.

Thanks!
