Huh? I thought you said you peeled your lips constantly while using predisnone? Did you try leaving it alone for some of the time and peel at other times?

To the others in this thread, the inflammation goes well beyond the swelling. It's even the redness and rawness of the skin. Microinflammation or microswelling as it is called.

From my experience so far, getting inflammation down is imparitive to healing... or at least reducing symptoms. I'm not sure if the silver bullet to stop EC, but it definitely alleviates symptoms. I would go as far to say the inflammation is the precursor to the peeling. You want to keep inflammation as low as possible to facilitate healing. At times when my EC was the most imflamed it spread and got worse. Early peeling or picking is definitely something that increases inflammation.
