totally agree. On my first Water Fast -unintentional, but I was preparing food for three days for an event, and lost all ability to eat, even to taste- I wanted nothing at the end of it as much as one velvet leaf of baby spinach.
There's a British show that was on a few years ago, wherein a Hypnotist got people to lose lots of weight, not with hypnosis, but through having them eat mindfully--putting the fork down between bites. Truly mindful eating means looking at your bowl of food (enough to fit into cupped hands) and taking it in mentally, before you take a bite. During this process, you can say grace of as your wish, consider all that went into bringing you this meal, and by the time you actually eat it, you feel full, rather soon.
