Re: Personality disorders related to Thyroid disorders?
The Barbara Brennan School of Healing has a generous amount of information that ties psychological patterns of disease in relation to physical wellness and healing. Both books she has written are essential to own, although her second book has more information on thyroid problems.
It certainly is possible that a fracturing of the nervous-system (science term) or chakras/channels (spiritual term) has happened in the thyroid area. This type of physical or energetic trauma surely could lead to a personality disorder or mental imbalance later on in life. You just have to research it more and then find the appropriate antidote that works for you.
Briefly looking at Barbara Brennan's books, I found a nice success story. She gave two reiki sessions (weekly) to one of her clients who was due to have thyroid surgery on the third week. Her client went to the doctor expecting surgery and since they didn't find any trace of disease she was exempt. Fortunately, with this alternative therapy she didn't need the invasive surgery.
This particular form of reiki is a healing-session that goes beyond traditional reiki as it often lasts for 1.5 hours which is forty-five minutes longer than other forms of reiki. There are three things that make this therapy stand out from all the others.
The FIRST thing that makes this healing modality unique is you have information to healing your core psychological issues. SECOND, you have a method that you can work at to strengthen your hara line for aligning you with your life purpose. THIRD, you are taught a specific meditation to heal and improve the function of the core star, soul seat, and lower tan tien.
These meditations will help GROUND you to come into the body rather than being dissociated or disconnected from life. Due to any form of traumatic incident, we often “leave” the body out of fear or pain. And we know from psychological resources that specific ages of childhood trauma can affect certain personality disorders. These symptoms usually reveal themselves more apparently in adult life.
One Barbara Brennan Healer put it nicely:
"When people connect to this Core essence aspect of themselves they stop participating in negative patterns and stop putting up with abusive or destructive behavior. Old situations transform into new ones. Sicknesses heal. People heal cancer, auto-immune disorders, thyroid problems, heart problems, digestive disorders and more."
It would be a good idea to investigate the Barbara Brennan School of Healing for those with a serious physical trauma, mental imbalance, or core abuse issue you would like to get a handle on. It seems this would be right up your alley. If you are serious about having a stable, healthy state of mind then I would suggest researching her two books: "Hands of Light" and her other book "Light Emerging".
I have always stated that hands-on-healing (reiki) is the most primary place to start. That means you start taking action to have at least hour-long sessions from a qualified healer. What's more simple than resting peacefully on a table? The hard part is taking your first step.

Then, other exercises can be incorporated such as the Soul-seat meditation, Fragrant Chi-Kung and the Chinese health balls which can stimulate the glands and repair the nervous system on the physical level. This is one way to begin a path of self-improvement and feeling joy rather than hearing depressing news that such cases are a permanent condition.
good luck!
