My husband of almost 25 years was high functioning, successful in business, had lots of spiritual knowledge and even practiced a variety of meditations regularly for many years, YET, he had very serious attachment issues and serious emotional instability when it came to conflict. Despite appearing to be so together in himself, highly intelligent and even aware and admitting he had a serious emotional issues he still refused to seek real help. The label doesn't matter, it's the behaviour which does, but he actually had BPD. I had no idea what I was dealing with at the time. Although I knew it was extremely unhealthy and towards the end, serious and potentially very dangerous.
