Okay, the link I posted about mice concludes that fibroblast growth factor causes
mitogen activity in fordyces spots.

A mitogen is a chemical substance that encourages a cell to commence cell division, triggering mitosis. A mitogen is usually some form of a protein.

Anyway, it might explain why I have so many fordyce spots on raw part of upper lips= cell division.
