Also, how do the doctors plan to investigate the abnormal amount of blood vessels in lip area?

Here is my say. "Fibroblast growth factors promote angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels from the pre-existing vasculature." And increased fibroblast growth factor creates increased fibroblasts, which causes the skin to thicken like in keloid scars or actinic cheilitis.
