Re: Holistically Healing mind/body after years of unhealthy foods and thoughts, where to start?
There's actually something of a dichotomy to Hinduism with the non diety concept of Brahman and self realization, and then the various avatars like Krishna, Vishnu, etc.
It's quite possible to get the full benefit of Yoga without any specific diety worship or belief. Buddhism is a case in point by being in many ways a clone of Yoga and Hinduism without any theistic belief. And that missing ingredient hasn't put a dent in its popularity as an export.
In fact what I see as Occult (or hidden meaning) in almost all religions is the inference that all of us are actually Gods. Definitely in our tiny speck of the universe, the role of humanity as creators couldn't be more obvious.
And I've long believed that religions DO tend to intentionally limit our God given (and mandated use of) creative power and will by teaching passivity, inaction and obedience to authority.
OK all that said, I find your comments interesting, and have had the nagging thought myself of what entity are you really invoking when you're endlessly repeating various mantras etc. More of a nag than a crises ..but do tell. Give me a tour of the rabbit hole and real enlightenment.
