Re: Holistically Healing mind/body after years of unhealthy foods and thoughts, where to start?
Couldn't agree less about staying away from Yoga or Ayurveda - or your referring to them as Occult. If this is coming from a Vatican forcefed Christian perspective (as much as I hate using Vatican and Christian in the same sentance) be aware than the consensus is that Christ studied yoga and vedic sources during his 3 year visit to India.
Yoga and Ayurvedic practices predate Christianity and have inspired both Christianity and Buddhism among other great religious movements. Are there any end to con men offering salvation and anything else you might want under the guise of any religion, cult or philosophy? Hell no - and it's no doubt greater than 100 to one over those that are sincere.
But the good news is even at best all they can do is resonate what's already within you. So there's no harm in opening yourself to any religions or beliefs as long as you know to immediately discard anything that doesn't strongly resonate as truth. And always follow your built conscience, empathy and set of right and wrong over ANYTHING else external to you. Your greatest scriptures are written into your being by way of conscience, love, sense of divinity, empathy, and instinct to prayer and communion with the divine.
Sorry if you've been taken for a ride by the unscrupulous, but trust me, you're not alone.
