Re: The root of sin.... article

No, what the world seeks to tell us differently is that we don't have a sin nature.

Why are we asking God to forgive us of our sins constantly if we don't have a sin nature?

This is not the same thing as....Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Ezekiel 33:12
“Therefore, son of man, say to your people, ‘If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person’s former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked repents, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous.’

In other words....Mercy may be extended to all who really seek it:

Zechariah 1:3
3 Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Staying in sin and not really seeking change....will condemn us....

Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
