Re: Is fasting the best option for me?
Hi Chris
Thankyou so much for your response.
I agree that long term a low fat diet is not wise. I only recently adopted this because of my readings on the 80/10/10 diet which specifies no more than 10 percent of calories should come from fats. As it is high carb raw vegan diet (from fruit) it specifies this limit becasue fat is said to coat the cells and prevent insulin from freely transporting
Sugar from the blood to the cell. This results in such things as candida bloom etc. Prior to this I had incorporated higher fat diets but i felt my body was not coping well with breaking them down and i felt sluggish.
When i eat volumes of fruit my bowels are at the best and that gives me relief.
Another person I follow Dr Robert Morse also uses fruit widly to heal disease. I believed that maybe a mono fruit diet for a time would help my adrenal and sleep issues ( i believe my thyroid is also not functioning as it should). Again there have been reports of people on the 80/10/10 diet and initially fruit mono mealing recovering from adrenal fatigue. Others have had to follow up with a water fast.
One symptom i forgot to mention is the burning sensation i get in my belly area, it is left of the navel and slightly down. It is most prominent when my bowels are empty.
With this in mind I felt that a
Water Fast would also help this burning symptom as it seems like some kind of inflammation and just not having food pass through the bowels for a period of time might calm it down.
Also in terms of my hunger i wasnt sure if i was showing signs of malabsorption (particulary as I cant put on wieght)
thats why my hunger was strong? In terms of actual test results that I have had I show little deficiency (except zinc)
With respect to vitamin d levels, my levels are good compared to the rest of the population but this may not be saying anything if we are all deficient.
I know that health issues cannot be reversed overnight and I ve been trying everything for such a long time. I am not dogmatic about which diet ie vegan or not, just only to find what works best for me at the right time.
Thankyou
Raj
