Conversely, if a scientific study or even numerous scientific studies and papers tell us that a drug like Vioxx is safe and a group of us note that over 50,000 deaths have been attributed to Vioxx thus far does that make us delusional if we reject those studies?

Are you aware that up to 80% of scientfic studies have been identified as being either flawed or outright fraudulent?  That is the case according to one imminent scientific researcher:

Which is not to say disregard science or to operate simply on beliefs, but it is to say that the science of today is far from the know-all end-all.
