Ovary can make T4 from iodine. Yes. But how / what is the natural mechanism for Iodine getting to the ovary in the first place ?

Two choices: 1) from external source supplied to ovary; 2) from internal source supplied to ovary.

I'm inclined to go with the latter. However, my mind is open.
