This is a key question and here's my thought, maybe you can help too.

Thyroid is the body's thermostat, it senses temperature of incoming air and controls how much moisture is released from lungs in body's effort to cool itself via physical-chem concept known as Joule-Thomson effect. Thyroid hormone basically controls metabolism rate in cells too, so maybe there are things going on with reproduction where the fetus needs to have a little extra heat ? It could be a fail-safe mechanism that if the woman gets half frozen, the baby will still be kept nice and warm ? That's a pretty dumb guess. Its probably much more complicated, I would talk maybe miscarriage topic but I know you had mentioned it personally and I do not want to go there if it is a sensitive topic for you. Tweet
