Hi Sargvy, i understand your point of view, so chronic manipulation of the lips keep this condition active, right?

i have also read that a patient was "cured" with anti-depressants.

could you explain better the association between negative thoughts and impulses from brain?
are you talking about the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis?


However not all cases are due to factitious cheilitis. some people began with Acne treatment, oral candidiasis or simply dry lips which were constantly picked on.


My question is: how did the subjects of your study managed their condition?
did they never toutched in their lips? were they in "socially accepted" condition to speak to other people during their daily life?
