Yeah. They are auto-immune diseases. Just like my doctor says Exfoliative Cheilitis is!! And yes, auto-immune disease is where the body starts attacking itself (very good you got one thing right). But what anti-gens are attacking for each disease? Doctor's don't know and can't prove. These diseases are diagnosed by SYMPTOM, not by testing the blood for anti-gens. In Rheumatoid Arthritis (which I have by the way!!!) the doctors will test for RA-Factor in the blood, but just because it often correlates with severity of disease, but NOT a guarantee. Many people who have sky high RA-Factor in the blood don't have ANY Rheumatoid Arthritis . And some severe Rheumatoid Arthritis patients have perfectly normal RA-Factor.
Stop the victim blaming. Or do you want to also tell MS sufferers that it's their fault they're in a wheelchair, and if they believe they can walk, then they'll be able to walk again?
