Some VERY Interesting Fasting Test Results
Many questions arise as to whether or not we should bathe during a fast. This is probably a more sensitive subject when dry fasting.
My
Water Fasts are fairly dry. I try to keep my water intake down to about 12
oz daily. This would lead one to believe that during bathing or showering, the skin would be anxious to absorb some water.
Right now, I'm on day 7 of a water fast. The first three days were dry. My skin has tiny wrinkles indicating some dehydration effects from the fast.
I decided to observe the effects of a shower on my weight. I weighed myself right before and right after the shower.
Before I tell you the results, take a guess at what happened...
After the shower, my weight was .6 lb less than when I stepped in! If you're surprised, so was I.
I had done a similar test in the past during a fast, except it was a bath with
Epsom Salts . In this test, I lost 2 lbs!!!
What does it all mean? I don't know, but I think it should be added to our collective knowledge.
The Bible tells Christians in Matthew 6:17 basically to maintain their typical hygiene. Maybe Jesus knew what he was talking about...
