hoping for help: lugols iodine & weight gain

QUOTE: Water retention with the sodium chloride push – POSTED BY Lndolls on 9/8/2007 6:41:44 PM @ //www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=960021#i

I tried the salt push - several rounds. I find much better results using potassium chloride instead. I get it at: http://vitanetonline.com/description/N1450/vitamins/POTASSIUM-CHLORIDE-PWD--8...
I-herb also has it. No water retention, bromine clearing effectiveness galore using it exactly as the sodium. I can skip the push and then start again with no negative effect on my body. I found that no matter how much water I drank and Watermelon I ate that starting the salt push again always made me bloated for a few days until the body balanced out.UNQUOTE

NOTE: I responded to the above post but got no help so I figure post is way too old.

Hello everyone, I am new to the forums but have been reading Cure Zone for about a year now trying to find help on how to LOOSE WEIGHT instead of GAINING WEIGHT when taking Lugols Iodine. I sure hope for some thoughts and ideas. I’m kind of at my whit’s end. Nothing works.

I have been taking 2 water pills since last Saturday as a 'last ditch' effort and I see zero change. I don't even need to use the restroom more like most say they do.

R.E. the above post, I am wondering how much potassium chloride I should take daily? I too tried the water melon with no results and I ate tons of Watermelon last summer. Salt water makes me gag and get sick.

A BIT OF HISTORY: I started taking Lugols Iodine 6-20-11 and have gained weight ever since and I am afraid if I don’t get a handle on the weight gain, it will just continue to where I really have a “BIG problem”.

I take approximately 22.70 mg. each day when I get up. I have had Hypothyroidism since 2006 and have kept it in check by taking supplements. I have had to be careful and watch my weight since developing Hypothyroidism. It use to be that I could eat anything and never gain anything but that is not so any longer.

I am 58 and weigh 130 presently, prior to 6-20-11 when I started taking Iodine I weighed 122. I am not as active as I use to be prior to 2006 do to breathing problems. The Iodine helps my lungs and breathing. I tried to cut back on the iodine to 13.62 mg. in hopes that would help my weight go down but I ended up having trouble with my lungs and breathing again so I went back to the 22.70 mg. Perhaps more iodine would help my lungs even more but I don’t want to increase the dosage because of the weight problem I am having by taking iodine.

My weight has continued to climb no matter how I watch calorie my intake. I can consume less than 1000 calories a day and weigh a pound more the next day. I have always taken 1 Green Tea capsule daily and 1 CHROMIUM 500 mcg.

2-15-12 to try to get my metabolism working again I started taking
Hydroxy citric acid (HCA),Tonalin and Cinnamon Capsules.

For weight and thyroid, I also take B100 Complex, Manganese 5 mg., Selenium 200 mcg. (was taking 400 mcg. till I got concerned that I was taking too much), Magnesium 500 mg, L Tyrosine 750 mg, Vit. E 400 mg., Boron 3 mg, Colloidal Copper, Gold and Silver.

I just ordered some potassium chloride and will try it in hopes of getting my weight back under control. I am just wondering how much I should take. And if you have any other thoughts please let me know. They would be greatly appreciated. I’m at my whit’s end.

Thank you in advance for any help.
