I would like to make my own cheap zappicator but using a computer as a 1kHz zapper. There is plenty of software that can be used to generate frequencies (e.g. FreX).
However, it is well known that a zapper outputs a DC signal, but a computer sound card outputs AC. So, I wonder if it is necessary to have a DC to make an effective zappicator?
Has anyone tried connecting a North Pole loudspeaker, which is used in the zappicator, to a computer?
