We're not trying to deny the fact that you had a very bad experience with coconut oil but like the above commented it is not typical. The reason coconut oil is good for skin is because its both moisturizing, an anti-microbial, and is also used in many skincare products on the market today. I'm curious if what you are reacting to is an allergy. Nut allergies are very common. This reminds me of the time an old coworker tried Burt's Bees Royal Jelly Eye Creme and her eyes swelled up like balloons... it didn't occur to her that her severe allergy to bees would be effected. I had a similar incident when I put a very popular body lotion on my face and was left with welts all over! So before bashing coconut oil all over the internet that works for a large majority of people, let's instead give the precondition to patch test every product you try.
