Re: Day 6 Water fast, still extremely weak
I'm no expert, but I finished my first fast at 3 days. On the third day I was actually feeling better, more energy, no hunger. Day 2 is typically supposed to be the hardest and when you move into that next stage, you should feel it. I don't mean to discourage you, but maybe you should consider breaking it. I'd think as a vegetarian, it would be much easier for you.
I know people recommend starting with shorter fasts and working your up with ample time between. I think 6 days is a great feat, especially for your first time. Consider your goals and what you want from it. I don't think that picking a number for the sake of a challenge is really important. Are you doing it for a detox, for your spirit, or healing? Listen to your body as well. If you think it is feeling harder than it's supposed to, which it sounds like, it may be a sign to give it time to recover. Just don't do anything you might regret or hurt yourself because of pride.
I know the next time I fast for a longer period, I'm gonna have an expert naturopath keeping tabs on me, which is recommended for any fast over 3 days, especially your first if it's your first time.
