Re: Vomiting bile when fasting - electrolyte imbalance?
Yes it is possible to take in a lot of water and be dehydrated. I used to drink around a gallon of water a day and was having fainting and dizzy spells and leg cramps etc. My doctor diagnosed it as dehydration and told me to talk in more water. "What?" I asked. "I am already drinking a gallon a day." "Drink more." He said. I tried it but it did not alleviate the dehydration. I was alos peeing a ton and the pee was generally clear in the day and dark yellow after a night;s sleep. So I did some research and read about something called dead water and how the regulr water in not necessarily hydrating. After that I just started eating more watermelon, cucumbers, grapes,
Celery ( which I hate the taste of), and any fruit and vegetable with high water content. After three months the burning and cramping in the legs lessened. Then I did a juice fest where I was taking in a lot of green and fruit juice for 30 days. The cramps and burning lessened even more. And during the juice fest I barely drank water because I was always too full to cram in any. Look up Quantum Eating. The author also has some info in her book about how water is not necessary for hydration.
As for coconut water, if I drink it when I am nauseous it exacerbates it. But it does give me energy. The enervation that some feel is not actually because of dehydration but rather because of an imbalance. Resting with eyes closed and no movement for 30 minutes or more can remedy that because it gives the body a chance to try to rebalance itself without distractions.
