Re: Where is Dr. House when you need him?
Thanks for all of the responses. It's nice to hear from you all and know I'm not alone! And to get confirmation that much of this is caused by mirena.
I looked up my digestive symptoms on webmd (a blessing and a curse) and they showed possible
Gallstones or ulcer. That's appropriate, because mirena seems exactly like the type of thing to cause ulcers! It had not occured to me that the turtleneck feeling might be caused by reflux acid - that's a good possible explanation. It's hard for me to understand how birth control can effect the functioning of a stomach that has always worked like clock-work. If anything knows anything more about this link, I'd love to know more. But, I guess I should go meet with a gastroenterologist in the near future.
I'm only 3 months post Mirena. For those ladies who have experienced some of the above symptoms, I have a question about timeline. Did some of these ease, or go away entirely (fingers crossed)? Especially the hair loss and pain behind eyes (which really are psychological setbacks and high on the bummer scale) - if and when did you start seeing them improve?
Thanks for your thoughts!
