Re: Anyone take Iodine with thyroid medication?

Hi! Thanks for everyone's replies..I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who needs a little extra in addition to the iodine.

I haven't tried the Armour or the other dessicated one. I just started on Synthroid 3 days ago. I am SUPER sensitive to any supplements so I wasn't sure how I was going to react to the Armour or the other natural one being how it's made. I will definitely keep in mind about the cheaper company if I do end up switching over. I really wasn't too excited about taking something that's synthetic but I'm gonna see how it goes. So far I do notice some improvement, from what I've read it takes a few weeks to really notice though. The last 3 days I haven't been as tired and when I wake up, I feel alert right away. I actually had enough energy to clean all weekend and go thru drawers, so it must me helping! LOL. Usually I have to really push myself.

I thought that was interesting about the increasing or decreasing the doses based on how you're feeling. It definitely makes sense. I know what you mean about knowing when you wake up how the day is going to go!! I just got the adrenal spit test kit so I'm going to take that this week. I was reading that when you're hypothyroid, the adrenals try to make up for the lack of energy so they can get burned out pretty easily. I didn't know that..

What does everyone take for the adrenals?
